Week 5 internship Filmax
This week we were asked to go do another interview with P’Panu ( the same person we went with last time ) He’s responsible for many articles in the magazine.
One of those articles is the article that he will ask any celebrity to choose his or her favorite movies and talk about the reason why he or she loves that movie. And for this upcoming month, the celebrity that he’s going to interview is an actor/ DJ/ TV host named John Vinyhu. He’s well known for his talkative personality.
We went to see them at the Grammy building where John Vinyhu works. He has a personal assistant with him at all time to mange his schedule. John is a busy man so we only got two hours with him. During the interview she consistently coming in and out of the room just to make sure that we’re not going over time.
Like last time, P’Panu pretty much the one who did all the talking. i just sat there with my recorder and listening to somewhat interesting conversation they’re having. I feel like it’s better to keep my mouth shut than ask stupid question and end up making myself looking like a fool.
This is what i got from listening to the interview. John has a pretty good knowledge on films. He watched plenty of movies not only the big budget action movie but he’s also watch indy or smaller kind of movies too. So, its good that the magazine chose to interview him. Imagine if they choose someone that only watch Thai comedy movie
Fortunately, that’s not the case here. Here are some of John’s favorite’s movie;
Magnolia (1999) characters have flaws, not typical Hollywood main characters.
Resevoir Dogs (1992) He likes how raw and bloody the movie is
Pulp fiction (1994) He likes how the director tell the story in non linear form which he said it’s new for him at the time. Got new taste in watching movie.
Goodfellas by Martin Scorsese. He likes the actors and how smoothly the script is. Also he likes the soundtrack of Jimi Hendrix that was used in the film.
The Dark night (2008) He is a hardcore fan of Joker. He likes the plot that implies how human has both good and bad sides.
Chinatown (1974) Great performances.
Uncle Boonmee (2010) he said that the movie is truly a work of art which he rarely sees in Thai film.
All the president’s men (1976) HE likes the actors: Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford.
